Getting to hear “Temple Run” should easily ring the bell, especially those into mobile games. For the game never got side-tracked, out of the limelight in your top ranking, and top grossing games of all time. To boot, it might even have transpired the collection of whole new genre of games – the endless runner games.
The game here is very simple, it pitches you in for a great dilemma, and you’re on your own scouring for safety, jumping or sliding through the hurdles thrown at you, up until you get caught by the temple guardian. The gist is that you’ll never get to escape the temple – and you’ll never need to. For the game’s actual challenge, is for you to set the longest record, despite barraging you with random hindrances along your way.
Perhaps the best part about Temple Run it’s really easy to figure out how to play it. Nonetheless, it puts on some basic control tutorials during your first game, composed of simple directional swipes on your screen to do navigating, and the different moves while your character is running. For no more than 10 minutes time playing, you’d pretty much got a hold of everything there is to do, get frantic and watch out for in the game. Eventually, you’ll be on your way setting out some serious records of your own.
Your goal in the game is to reach the farthest stretch you can, before falling or crashing onto something therein which then of course gets you caught by the temple guardian. The mechanics thrown at you are fairly straightforward too. Basically, any dubious looking thing that hinders your path is a sure game killer to avoid. For example, ramming into a wall, missing a jump from two disconnected pathways, and even having to avoid hurdles that basically slow you down from running (as the guardians could catch up on you).
Points in the game is basically graded depending on the stretch of distance you have successfully garnered – which is displayed in meters after each trial. Other than that, you get additional point for every coin you get while running. This adds up to a pool, which also serves as the bank of credits in the game. The main purpose of coins is to use them in the store to purchase several items to help give you leverage in your following run. After reaching onto the 1000 meter mark, red coins would start to appear which are valued twice as much as the regular one, and a triple valued blue coin gets showing up at the 2000 meter mark.
In terms of visuals, Temple Run is probably one of the frontier games to give us a full 3D game to be had in the mobile platform, several years then since, it still never ceases to top the notch among the games on the same platform. Tag that along with the immersive gameplay you get from this title and that reveals the reason behind the billion installs from Google play alone. It features some great collection of nice and vibrant assets, to easily appeal to anyone who gets to play it. Overall a very fun game that does an excellent job of getting its participant at the edge of his/her seat playing, and very well entertained.
