Let’s start with the gameplay. As a matching game, the instructions are simple: click on the nearby like critters to clear them from the screen. However, there are a couple of challenges. First, you need to follow the goals. These will refer to the number and the color of critters you should get rid of. Second, you are limited by the number of moves.

Perhaps the most unique of the system is the layout of the grid. In fact, there’s technically no grid here since the critters are all lined up in rows, similar to military style. This layout will prove to be a challenge later on in the higher levels. The different-colored critters will be all over the rows, and you need to eliminate barriers such as those big desserts before you can win the game.

Another interesting aspect of the game is the booster. Unlike the regular match-3 games, the boosters here are virtually the same: they’re all drums. However, they don’t look alike in terms of color and cover. Some of them will remove the critters vertically or horizontally. Others will get rid of only a certain number of critters. The round drum will work like a bomb, removing those around them.

Because they are all shaped the same, however, it’s not unusual to get confused about which is which. All throughout the earliest levels, the Sumi-Sumi god will appear to guide you through the process and how to use each drums, but in reality, it’s hard to keep up with all the instructions and guidelines. There’s a Help button, but the game won’t tell you until you’re almost through with the first area.

Fortunately, you can get more boosters and other tools by using coins and rubies. Moreover, the game introduces Sumi-Sumi characters, which can become your buddy. Each will have its own ability, which can help speed up your gameplay.

When it comes to graphics, the game is top-notch. The critters, although small, render very well on the screen. The sound is truly kawaii (cute), which means it’s in true Japanese fashion.

The game also has an excellent social aspect. You can invite friends to play with you, and you can look for them on Facebook or within the network. You can create your own avatar, request help from your friends, or climb your way to gamers’ rankings.
