Solitaire Story is a really fun and enjoyable solitaire game that has a lot to offer in terms of gameplay but alongside that it also offers a really unique theme and also adds a bit of backstory into the mix. Overall, everything works out quite well for the game and it’s quite the experience once you manage to get into it a bit.

When you start off in Solitaire Story you’re first shown a small cut-scene that tells you about the plot of the game which is followed by a tutorial phase that’s made up of a few levels that are designed to teach you the necessary basics of the game. The tutorial phase is very in-depth and guides you step-by-step so it’s really easy to get the hang of everything.

As for plot, Solitaire Story basically takes place in a fantasy land that’s kept in peace through the powers of magic but recently a witch has been putting curses on this land and it is slowly shifting towards panic and chaos. You team up with Dex the dragon and set out on a journey to stop the evil deeds of the witch.

Going into the gameplay, Solitaire Story has the best of traditional solitaire elements combined with some great new features like fun to use power-ups to make for a really enjoyable experience. The way to play the game is pretty much the same as heart since you have to click the cards that are either one above or below the highlighted card on the deck which clears them and places the selected card on top of the deck. This process is repeated until the entire area is cleared of cards. While clearing the area is the objective most of the time in solitaire games, that isn’t in the case in Solitaire Story. The levels in Solitaire Story are completed once you find the cards with the witch hats on them and remove them from the playing field.

There are a ton of different power-ups in Solitaire Story that make things interesting. One thing worth pointing out is that they aren’t unlocked early on so you’ll have to get a few levels under your belt before you have access to them but once you do it’s definitely worth all the effort as they make the gameplay a lot more fun. There’s a power-up to shuffle the layout, a power-up to remove a specific card, a power-up to spawn a wildcard and lots more that you can utilize to spice up the gameplay a bit.

In terms of visuals, Solitaire Story looks quite nice. The game has a unique theme that has been executed quite nicely, the cards look really high quality and sharp, background environments usually have a lot of detail and the music of the game just syncs all the game’s elements together perfectly.

As for micro-transactions, you’ll be able to get your hands on coins and gems with real world money. Coins are used while in the game to perform tasks like undo while gems are used to buy power-ups.

Solitaire Story is a really enjoyable solitaire game that basically does everything right and is sure to please whoever tries it out.
