Solitaire Blitz is a new take on the classic well loved game. You will be asked to collect treasures, fulfill quests and go on adventures under the sea. Rather than the classic style, you will need to move all your cards from the play area onto the build piles. You can move a card either 1 above or 1 below the current cards available. So if there is a 7 on the pile, you can move a 6 or an 8 of any suit.
You have 1 build pile to begin with, and as you progress through each hand you will open up to 2 more. You also have a pile of face down cards, that will refresh the build piles if you have no moves. The deck also contains jokers, when played on the build pile you can put any card on top.
Each time you finish a level, you will be rewarded with one of your quest items, and also a series of items that give you coins. These coins can be spent on in game boosts and power ups, and you can buy the coins for real money through Facebook. You can also buy energy through Facebook, this energy is what allows you to play each hand. Every time you finish a quest you get 1 energy, and it refills over time.
Each game is timed, with different levels having different countdowns. As you clear cards from your hand you will be able to add time to the clock. Each stack of cards has a treasure at the bottom of it, sometimes you can unlock the quest item you need to unlock the next level, even if you do not clear all of the cards in time. There is also a limit to the number of face down cards you can flip onto the build pile and you can run out of cards.
Solitaire Blitz is a really fun game to play, the pace is well thought out, and it does not feel too fast or pressured, the characters that you meet are friendly and the storyline is entertaining. The graphics are very neat and consistent, with the option to choose the picture on the back of your deck as you unlock more levels.
The game play itself is very smooth, although you are not able to pick which deck the card goes on to once you click it, this can result in a double number on the build pile. This effect is pretty rare, and with the jokers and face down cards its not really a problem.
The movement of the cards is quick and the game flows very easily. With the quests popping up as you go and easy to follow maps the story unfolds in a very straightforward way, and its enjoyable to play through.
